    • 1) Is there a product limit?
The number of products allowed depends on the plan you have chosen. However, on the highest plan (Shop 5) the maximum number of product is 2500. You can have different options per product eg. size, color etc, so this can greatly increase the actual number of product options in your shop.

      2) How many pictures can each product have? How much text can each product have?
Each product has a thumbnail (small) image and a main (large) image. You can also put in an additional 4 large images. You can also link to a file (eg. a PDF document) that could contain any number of images and information about your product.
The amount of information you put in about each product is completely up to you. Webation Active allows for 1000 of words for each product.

      3) Can I have products options like color or size?
Webation Active supports two “Product Variable” lists for each product. An list contains a “Option Name” like size or color for example, and then “Option Values” which contain, for example for color, red, blue, green etc. Each “Product Variable” also supports a different price so a small t-shirt can cost less than a XXXL if required.

      4) How do I accept payments?
In Webation Active, you setup the types of payments that you accept or you want to accept on your website. This is called your “Ordering Channels”. You can choose to accept credit cards, PayPal, direct deposit, phone, fax, post / check (cheque) and account customer.
Payments are made after your customers have finished filling in their shopping cart with your products. When a customer "checks out", they fill in a form with their details (like name, address etc) and choose a payment method from the methods you have selected inside Webation Active on the “Ordering Channels” page. Then the customer enters in their payment details.

      5) Do I need a merchant account from a bank to accept credit cards?
You can either accept credit cards via a PayPal account (www.paypal.com.au) or you can obtain what is known as a “merchant account” directly with a bank to process your credit cards. Obtaining a merchant account takes longer than using PayPal, however, the percentage transaction fee that you are charged from Visa and Mastercard is usually less.
When obtaining your merchant account from your bank (which does not have to be the bank that you do your banking with – so shop around for the best deal), you only need permission to accept credit cards over the phone (without the card holder present).

      6) How do I receive purchases?
When an order is placed on your website, you are sent an email, however, the email does not contain the order details. To view and process your order(s), you login to the “Order” section of Webation Active (you select this on the login screen). This “Order” section is specifically designed for you to process orders (and it can have a different password to access this area).
When you login, the “New Orders” page is displayed. This is a list of all your new orders. From here you can view order and payment details, print out packaging slips etc. When you have processed an order, you change the status from New to Completed. At this time, another email is sent to the customer advising them that their order has been shipped.
The “Order” section of Webation Active, also allows you to search past orders, view statistics specific to your online shop and also customize the emails that customers automatically receive when they place an order.

      7) Do I need an SSL certificate?
No, Webation Active has its own SSL certificate that covers your website and orders.

      8) What about calculating shipping costs?
Webation Active has a number of different options when calculating shipping. They are found under the “Shopfront” tab in the “Postage” icon group. You can go with simple free shipping or right up to very complex shipping cost calculations based on weight or a variable price per product.
You can also charge different amount for different types of postage eg. standard, express etc.
