The term "Content Management System" is a broad term that refers to software that allows staff to edit and update their website themselves.
Content Management Systems are designed to empower users that understand a particular topic (but are not necessarily technically savvy) with tools, that they can use, to update their website (instead of having to rely on a "computer person" to help them).
Content Management Systems do a lot more then this, however, this is a simplified definition.
Active Business and Active School can both be classed as Content Management Systems because they both allow non technical users with the ability to add in new pages, update a website, re-arrange the website structure etc.
